The Grist Mill at Keremeos

Bring your paints, easel and chair for a plein air (in open air) painting session with Okanagan based artist, Loraine Stephanson. Join other painters with various levels of experience at 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM. This workshop will focus on “value to color” exercises. Learn the Japanese sketching technique of simplifying the landscape into black and white shapes. Capture light and shadow and the main features of your subject with small, quick, felt pen drawings; then refer to your sketches as you learn the basics of using color in your landscape paintings. Any painting media and all skill levels welcome. There will be a break for lunch – the Tea Room will be serving or you are welcome to bring in your own lunch. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle and hat! Workshop fee, $35.00. Please call (250-499-2888) or email ([email protected]) to reserve your spot.
