BC Wines dominate Canadian Wine Awards. Over 350 medals have been awarded, including 22 golds.
Judges at the 10th Annual Canadian Wine Awards tasted almost 1,000 wines in 30 different categories. The event was held over four days in Penticton, with 22 gold medals going to wines made in BC.
Miles Prodan, Executive Director of the British Columbia Wine Institute, is thrilled the province grabbed 362 medals. “2010 is the 20th anniversary of BC VQA and we are proud to toast the success of our vinters who produce such exceptional quality, award-winning wines.”
There are 710 vineyards in British Columbia, which produce over 60 varieties of grapes. Mission Hill Familiy Estate Winery, Nk’Mip Cellars, Cedar Creek Estate Winery, Road 13 Vineyards, Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Estate and Cassini Cellars all took home gold medals.
